VENETO: THE MALGHE AND THE PROSECCO CELLARS

Cittadella, Asiago, the Prosecco Superiore Route  and Marostica are the main stops of this unmissable tour through plateaus and valleys and where you can taste typical products of the malga-huts and the standard bearer of Italian bubbles, a jewel of our oenology… Prosecco!

DAY 1: CITTADELLA

Arrival in the early afternoon in Cittadella, a small town in the Veneto region but the only one in Europe to have an elliptical walkway that can be completely covered. A short walk that offers a unique view of the whole city. Continue for a visit of the historic centre at your own leisure. Accommodation in hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: ASIAGO – TOUR DELLE MALGHE

Breakfast and departure for the Asiago Plateau for the tour of the typical shepherd’s cottages, called malghe. Departure from ‘Rifugio Bar Alpino’ di Caltrano for a panoramic hike around the plateau where it is possible to visit various mountain huts. There will be a tasting of typical products such as cheeses, cold cuts, homemade cakes, grappa and meat of own production. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit to Asiago, the pearl of the plateau that was completely rebuilt after the First World War. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: VALDOBBIADENE – PROSECCO SUPERIORE TOUR – ASOLO

Breakfast and departure for Valdobbiadene, where you will be able to follow the Prosecco Superiore ring road, a nature trail that passes through several famous localities in the area. On the way, stop at a winery for a Prosecco tasting. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon visit to Asolo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The symbol of Asolo is the Rocca, which dominates the landscape from the summit of Monte Ricco, offering a spectacular view. From here, you can see the historic centre of the town: Piazza Garibaldi with its 16th century fountain, the Castle, which today houses the Duse Theatre, and the ancient Cathedral, which houses the beautiful “Assunta” by Lorenzo Lotto.  Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: MAROSTICA

Breakfast and departure for Marostica, the “city of chess”. The famous chess game is a magical moment for the town. It is a medieval re-enactment that takes place every two years in the famous Piazza degli Scacchi and is inspired by a legend. Continue with a tour of the old town centre, where you can admire the main monuments such as the Lower Castle and the Upper Castle, connected by a walkway, the Church of Sant’Antonio and the Church of the Carmini. At the end of the visit, departure for the return journey.
