CALABRIA: DISCOVER THE LEGEND OF SCILLA AND CARIDDI
Calabria, bordered by the Ionian Sea to the east and the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west, offers visitors many wild places, beautiful coasts, mountainous areas to explore and a rich historical heritage.
Visiting Calabria also means testing, tasting and savouring all the culinary specialties offered by this region still little known by tourists, among which the fundamental ingredient is the famous Calabrian pepper!
DAY 1: CALABRIA
Arrival in the surroundings of Tropea, accommodation in hotel.

DAY 2: CAPO VATICANO – TROPEA – PIZZO CALABRO
After breakfast, departure for Capo Vaticano and visit of a farm producing the typical Calabrian red onion. Continuation to Tropea and guided tour of the historical centre, then on to Pizzo, an enchanting little town located between the sea and the mountains. Visit the small church of Pedigrotta and the Aragonese castle. Stop at an Ice cream parlour to taste the famous Tartufo Ice cream.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: SERRA SAN BRUNO – STILO
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Serra San Bruno for a visit to the famous Carthusian monastery. Continue to Stilo and visit the “Cattolica”, a 10th century Byzantine church. Lunch in a typical farmhouse to enjoy Calabrian cuisine.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4: LOCRI – GERACE – MAMMOLA
After breakfast visit to Locri, the ancient archaeological site of Lokri Epizefiri. Continue to Gerace to admire the Cathedral and the Church of St. Francis, where an interesting triumphal arch frames the altar. In the afternoon, continue to Mammola and walk through the narrow streets of the historic centre.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: SCILLA – REGGIO CALABRIA
After breakfast you will drive along the beautiful Costa Viola to the idyllic fishing village of Scilla. Continue to Reggio and visit the cathedral and the National Archaeological Museum, famous for the Riace bronzes. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
DAY 6: RETURN
After breakfast departure for your home-journey.
